The museum located at the Heydar Aliyev Avenue in Nakhchivan city was established by the
order of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated
February 18, 1999 and has been operating since 10 May, 1999. Stands devoted to the family of
Heydar Aliyev, national leader of Azerbaijan, his childhood and youth, documents and materials
of the period when he acted as a Chairman of Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous
Republic, the orders, decisions and letters signed by him, copies of the agreements signed in the
field of cooperation with the Republic of Turkey and the Islamic Republic of Iran are displayed in
the museum. In addition, the copies of state awards presented to national leader Heydar Aliyev in
different years, stamps and medals issued in honor of the 80th, 85th and 90th jubilees, some of
his personal belongings are among the expositions of the museum. The state flag, which was
adopted on November 17, 1990 in Nakhchivan is also kept in the museum. Magazines, albums
and books reflecting the life and activity of Heydar Aliyev, film and newspaper materials are
exhibited in the library of museum.
