Ashabi-Kahf Pilgrimage religious cultural monument complex

Ashabi-Kahf Pilgrimage has a special place in the most ancient unique and original monuments of Nakhchivan. The mention of the Ashabi-Kahf in the 18th Sura of Koran named Al-Kahf (The Cave), the religious book of the world's Muslims, is another proof of the popularity of this ancient sacred place during the pre-Koran age.
According to the Order (dated 9 February 1998) of Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic renovation and restoration works were carried out in the sanctuary in order to create more favorable conditions for pilgrims. Thousands of pilgrims, tourists and visitors from foreign countries visit this pilgrimage every year.
